The course has been designed for mayors, members of city councils, managers and key staff in public utility companies, employees in the municipal departments for utility affairs, managers in land directorates – all those who work on asset management issues on daily basis and who constantly deal with multiple challenges in resolving the financial, technical and legal aspects of infrastructure management in the water sector. The goal of the course is to raise the awareness of the target audience of the purpose, benefits and scope of asset management in the water and sanitation sector, including: improved understanding of the concept, elements and processes related to systemic and proactive asset management; understanding of the governance and decision-making arrangements in asset management; understanding of the correlation among the financial, institutional and technical aspects in asset management; presentation of innovative tools, techniques and best practices in asset management and creating a useful platform for effective exchange of knowledge and experience among participants.
